Borno South senator, Mohammed Ali Ndume has expressed concern over the Nigeria’s military’s might to tackle Boko Haram in the north eastern geopolitical zone of the Nigeria’s federation.

The senator in a statement in which he refuted report about his convoy being attacked by Boko Haram terrorists, insinuated that the Nigeria military is poorly equipped, not properly motivated, and lacks the wherewithal to defeat Boko Haram terrorists.

Senator Ali Ndume who had served as the chairman of the Senate committee on army, made the statement in his Maiduguri home after visiting families of victims of Boko Haram and bandits’ recent attacks in Ngoshe, Kirawa, Ashigashiya, and other communities in Gwoza local government area of Borno state.

He revealed against reports on social media that his convoy was not ambushed by Boko Haram terrorists as was reported.

He explained that while some Cameroonian soldiers and some civilians were attacked on Pulka-Kirawa road, he courageously went to visit some families of Boko Haram terrorists’ attacks and encountered no confrontation or attack by the terrorists.

In his words: we reached Kirawa successfully, where we also condoled with the families of those killed by terrorists last week.

“We encouraged residents to be resilient and not to panic over the renewed Boko Haram attacks,” Ndume said.
