Simon Ekpa can not be extradited to Nigeria by Nigerian authorities mere wishing for it or expressing it.It is going to be a protracted legal battle in which Nigeria may not prevail because Simon is a Finnish citizen. Nigerian has appalling, horrible human rights records. If that ever is to be contemplated by Finnish authorities, Nigeria will first sign an agreement and give a guarantee or assurance that Simon will not be tortured or subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment.
If that ever comes to trial and jail( he will spend it in Finland), yes, that will be in Finland and not in Nigeria.
On a positive note, the issue of Nigeria and Biafra will be raised and discussed despite the fact that Simon and his gangs under the inspiration of Nnamdi Kanu has cr1m1nalised it by slaughtering innocent Igbo Biafran sons and daughters in cold blood and in peace time.
However, the only immediate gain on the side of Nigeria for Simon’s arrest is to demoralize his criminal gangs and dig deeper into the sources of their finances and weaken them.
Overall, nobody can ultimately stop the issue or idea of Biafra! There maybe change of methods or approaches but the idea of self rule which Biafra embodies can never die in the midst of subsisting injustices against the South-East region, the Igbo-Biafrans.
