Afro hip hop singer cum activist for good governance, Seun Kuti, son of legendary musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti has revealed that he has never washed his clothes by himself since he was a child.
The musician made the disclosure in a podcast themed Zero Condition. According to him, he was “pampered” and treated specially by his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
He explained that his father’s special love for him meant that he got whatever he desired including joining his father’s band at the age of 8.
Seun Kuti described his late father as a good man while noting that his other siblings might have contrary opinions about their father.
“I won the daddy lottery. Fela Kuti is my favourite person in the world. If you asked my brothers they could say he’s a terrible dad but to me, he was an amazing father,” he said.
Seun Kuti revealed that his father’s special liking for him resulted in his being exempted from all home chores, the reason he has never washed his clothes by himself.
Speaking more about his father, Seun Kuti recounted how he was supported by his siblings and stakeholders to his father’s band, to take over the leadership of his father’s band following his death.
