Vice president Kashim Shettima openly confesses how he manipulated rules, obstructed investigation to help his friend, Ibrahim Mijinyawa owner of Sahad stores

Nigeria’s vice president, Kashim Shettima has openly confessed to manipulating rules to help his friend, Ibrahim Mijinyawa, the owner of Sahad stores.

According to the vice president, when Sahad stores was locked up by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) for violating price regulation, he immediately ordered the immediate  reopening of the supermarket at the expense of following due process.

The vice president despite knowing that the supermarket was shut down by the FCCPC due to its hiking of products prices, admitted to using his influence and position to order the immediate reopening of the supermarket.

Vice president Kashim Shettima made the confession at the commissioning of Sahad hospital in Abuja. His intervention  meant that the FCCPC would not carryout their needed investigation on Sahad supermarket alleged customer extortion and questionable price fixing.

Vice president Kashim Shettima noted that the reason for his action is due to the importance of the Sahad supermarket to Nigerians. He said, shutting the stores would exposed Nigerians to avoidable hardship.

“When the FCCPC locked up his store, I had to call the head of the agency to say, ‘Please, reopen the store before you come and tell me what happened,” Mr Shettima said. “I did so because I know how helpful Sahad Stores is to many Nigerians”, he said

Speaking about the owner of the Sahad supermarket, Ibrahim Mijinyawa, vice president Kashim Shettima described him as a good selfless man who is dedicated to public service.
