Popular street singer of Igbo origin and Biafra nation advocate, Speed Darlington known also as Akpi was today November 27th, 2024, arrested in Owerri, Imo State following his return from the United States of America.

The singer was said to be performing at a music show in Owerri when the some police officers who were trailing him arrived the venue to arrest the singer.

His rearrest was made public by his lawyer, Adeyanju Deji who made the disclosure through his social Media accounts.

“Our client Speed Darlington a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria”, Adeyanju Deji wrote

Speed Darlington rearrest is suspected to be in connection to his defamation case against Burna Boy who had petitioned the Nigeria’s police over Speed Darlington’s claim about his having amorous affair with American artist, Diddy.

Consequently, Speed Darlington was arrested but later released on bail. He would also tender an apology to Burna Boy publicly. However, his apology to Burna Boy is rather specious as he went on to release a dish track in which he taunted Burna Boy over his arrest.  While in the United States of America, Speed Darlington released several videos in which he indirectly reiterated his unproven claims against Burna Boy.
