The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun has warned that his state will not cede any of its part to any other state.
The governor who spoke in a meeting at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta which had in attendance representatives of the Ogun Waterside Local government area, traditional rulers of communities in the Local government area as well as prominent government appointees, technocrats, assured the people of the local government area of adequate security and interest of the Ogun State government amid fear of incursion from neighbouring states.
He emphasized that the influx of people from Ondo state and Lagos state into the Local government area will be checkmated as the state’s government will not cede any part of the state to other states.
The meeting was held in respect to palpable fear among the residents of the local government area who are concerned over threats of forceful seizure of some part of the local government by states with vested interest in the local government area and who share boundaries with it.
However, at the meeting, governor Dapo Abiodun assured the residents of the local government area that no inch of the state will be ceded to other states. He revealed that the state government plans to ensure adequate security within the area necessary to boost the confidence of the residents of the local government area.
The governor also promised to restore power supply to some parts of the Local government area which had not had electricity for over three years.
Furthermore, at the meeting, the governor disclosed plan for a naval based to be built in the local government area as well as a Deep Sea Port.
