A lady who describes herself as Lydia Ezeh has recounted her recent encounter with former Arsenal FC superstar, Kanu Nwankwo.

According to the lady who shared her encounter with him on her Facebook page, she ran into the retired player who serves as the president of Eyimba FC of Aba,  in Abia state. While she attempted coming close to Kanu to introduce herself to him and to remind him how she had treated him at a clinic in Kaduna state during the former player’s emerging years, she was totally ignored by Kanu who misjudged and took for a begger.

She revealed that she was nostalgic of those days and felt proud over how Kanu Nwankwo career went.

She thereafter enjoined him to stop treating people disdainfully especially those who had had connections with him in the past

She wrote: “Kanu Nwankwo, I will never forget the day you turned me down at Abia earlier this year. I approached you not because I wanted to beg for money — far from it. I am not a poor woman. If you have any doubts, please feel free to visit my page and see for yourself.
My intention was simply to introduce myself, as someone who played a small but significant role in your early sports journey. Back in your days in Kaduna, Peter was your coach, and whenever you weren’t feeling well, you would come to the clinic. I was the woman who treated you there.
It was a moment of pride and nostalgia for me to finally meet you at the Abia Stadium. I wanted to remind you of those early days and celebrate how far you’ve come, but unfortunately, you turned me down. That left me deeply disappointed.
Please don’t treat people like that. We all carry stories and connections that deserve recognition, especially from those whose paths have crossed with yours in meaningful ways.
With this, I urge you to reflect on this incident. Greatness is not only in achievements but also in the way we treat others”.
