Investigative Nigerian journalist, David Hundeyin has described the latest news of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) lifting their visa sanctions on Nigeria as a hoax.
David Hundeyin who had made similar investigative report about the unrealness of the Nigeria Air, argued that the current development about the UAE lifting its visa ban on Nigerians is untrue but a collaboration between the Nigeria government and a Canadian I.T personnel, Jean Geoffrion to rip off Nigerians seeking UAE visa.
According to David Hundeyin, the link released by the Nigeria government for visa application and documents verification for Nigerians seeking UAE visa, has no affiliation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) whose official websites usually ends with “uae” as against the one released.
David Hundeyin further claims that Jean Geoffrion is known for his unofficial dealings with government of African countries who seek to exploit “sustainable revenue through high traffic regulatory activities “. He alleges that this collaboration is the reason the acclaimed new visa application process requires Nigerians pay a non-refundable fee of about six hundred and forty thousand naira (640,000) for documents verification.
The journalist dares the Nigeria government to deny his claims as they always did necessary for him to release more convincing evidence to prove his case.
The news of the UAE lifting its visa ban on Nigerians elicited mixed feeling in Nigerians who had long anticipated the development after several months. Recall that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s spokespersons had erroneously announced a few months ago of the ban being lifted; however, the UAE authority in a statement denied lifting the visa ban on Nigerians as was claimed by the presidential media personnels. The UAE authority however disclosed that it was working with the Nigeria’s government to resolve some issues relating to the visa ban before lifting it.
