Prominent Igbo politician and senator representing Anambra south senatorial district in the Nigeria’s national assembly, has been reported dead.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who was in the pole position to fly the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket in the Anambra state 2025 governorship election, had left for London two days ago after making a personal fifty million naira donation to the Anambra APC chapter for the repositioning of the party in the state ahead of the state’s governorship election.
Reliant News Nigeria has confirmed that senator Ifeanyi Ubah died in his London hotel room due to cardiac arrest. The senator was not critically ill before leaving for London two days ago.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah enjoyed mixed popularity among the people of Anambra state. He was elected a senator on the platform of the Young people’s party (YPP). He would later decamp to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
It was also speculated that the late senator was one of the conspirators who lured foremost Biafra nation activist, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Kenya where he was renditioned by the Nigerian government. His death has also elicited varying reactions from Nigerians.
