A few hours after Nollywood actor and ex-member of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo announced his decision to break ties with the Labour Party as well as to cease to “project” the presidential aspiration of Mr. Peter Obi, Dele Farotimi in his response to Okonkwo’s remarks about Peter Obi, described Obi as the ” apex political leader” for accomplishing Nigeria’s peaceful revolution.

Dele Farotimi who is an ardent supporter of Mr. Peter Obi countered Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo’s insinuations that Mr. Peter Obi is incapable of securing his electoral victory in 2023 presidential election. According to Dele Farotimi, Peter Obi is the Nigeria’s hope for a working nation.

“I seek a new Nigeria, I do not believe in the sustainability of the current system built on injustice, impunity, and feudalism. I abhor it. I see the electoral process as a viable pathway to a peaceful revolution, and I see Peter Obi as the apex political leader in this quest..” Dele Farotimi wrote of his X handle.

Recall that earlier today, Kenneth Okonkwo in a press statement, accused Peter Obi of being too “calm”, not being confrontational: lacking the willpower to confront the rich and powerful corrupt Nigerian politicians who against the will of the people, seize power illegitimately. He announced the he is committed to looking  for a fearless and confrontational leader through whom Nigeria will be redeemed.

He added that Obi has refused to take a bold step in the crisis rocking the Labour Party and has remained indifferent in the face of the infighting in Labour Party; development which has made him question Peter Obi’s leadership qualities.
